Why choose a polished concrete floor?

Concrete floors are easy to clean and maintain. Concrete floors are unique and entirely bespoke, we can tailor the colour and finish of your flooring to suit your preference. As a result of the composite materials: water, aggregate and cement, these ingredients mix together and form a fluid mass that is easily moulded into shape. Over time, the cement forms a hard matrix which binds the rest of the ingredients together into a durable stone-like material with many uses. Hence, with concrete you achieve the unique beauty of stone but at a more affordable rate.

Can I have underfloor heating?

Yes, underfloor heating can be laid before the placement of the concrete floor. We do not offer this service but are happy to consult with your builders on this.

How long does a polished concrete floor take?

This is subject to current work commitments but we can usually accommodate placement of the floor within a 4 week period. We endeavour to meet each client’s individual requirements and are always as flexible as possible.

Do CCF offer a refurb or polishing service for existing concrete floors?

CCF will return and do a clean, seal and rebuff on floors installed by CCF (this is included in the price when the floor is first laid and if clients require this service a few years down the line we will return for a fee). CCF do not however offer this service for floors laid by other companies. The reason being that we know exactly what products we have used on our own floors but not on other companies. We would not wish to cause an adverse reaction by applying a product that is not compatible

Is a minimum floor area required?

CCF’s minimum operating costs are based on a 30m2 floor area. If your area is significantly less than this you may find the cost too expensive.

Our Polished Concrete Floor Process

Step 01

Assessment & Preparation

Our process starts with a thorough site assessment. We evaluate the existing substrate, check preparation needs, and discuss your desired finish and performance requirements. A free, no-obligation site visit is offered to understand your exact project goals.

Step 02

Pouring & Finish Prep

Before the concrete is poured, we prepare and protect the space — clearing debris, installing steel reinforcement where necessary, covering walls and doors, and setting up lighting. Once the fibre-reinforced concrete is poured and levelled in collaboration with our trusted pump partners, we allow it to set before beginning the polishing process.

Step 03

Polishing the Floor

Using powerfloats and progressive polishing techniques, we smooth and refine the surface to achieve the required finish — from matte to high gloss. This is completed in a controlled process that produces the distinctive, mottled polished concrete look clients love.

Step 04

Final Seal & Buff

Around one month after installation, we return to clean, seal and buff the floor using a three-stage diamond process. You can choose a matte, satin or gloss finish — all stain-resistant and exceptionally hard-wearing.
