Our Concrete Polishing Process

Our process consists of three main steps, which are completed over three separate days. The initial step is setting up and protecting the floor area. This is done by hoovering up any debris, placing down steel reinforcement that sits above the underfloor heating pipes, protecting all of the walls and doors with a protective covering, and placing adequate lighting in the area. This is all done the day before the concrete pour. The second step is pouring and finishing the concrete. We work alongside a trusted pump company to ensure this process goes as smoothly as possible. Once the fibre reinforced concrete is poured and laid there is then a small wait. Once hard enough to stand on we then begin the polishing process. This is done using powerfloats which smooth the concrete during the various hardening stages. Eventually polishing the surface of the concrete and leaving it with a mottled and shiny surface. This process is all completed in one day. Between the second and third step, around a week after the floor is laid, the clients can continue with their build, ie fitting the kitchen and painting the walls and ceilings etc. The final step comes around a month after the pour. When we will come back to clean and seal the floor. This is done using a three stage diamond buff. The floor is then sealed and buffed to the clients specification. We offer a matte, satin or gloss finish. All of which are stain resistant and extremely hard wearing.
